Bars with beautiful gardens

It's always better to have a drink in a beautiful setting, isn't it? I love sipping a glass of wine or a cocktail with beautiful views, by the sea, in a cave (why not?) or in a garden! Lately I have been specially interested in the last option and I have found some very nice bars with beautiful gardens that I will share with you in this post. If you have some other suggestions or great places in mind, let us know!

El Bar del Antic Teatre

Antic Teatre - Espai de Creació is an independent cultural and social center located in a building built in 1650, near to Palau de la Música, in the very center of Barcelona. It has a unique garden and a great cultural and social history. Its bar, that is located in the garden, is a meeting point of artists, and anyone who is curious enough to enter, and the main source of funding of the center. The prices are pretty cheap and the atmosphere is laid back and alternative. Keep in mind that you have to order your drinks at the bar and it closes quite early, in Spanish standards at least, at 23:30-24h. If you are interested in their programme, that includes cabaret, circus and theatre plays, check it here.

Bar Jardí

This place is also known with the name "the hidden garden" and it would be very hard to find it without the sign in the street that shows how to enter. As the sign is in a very busy street in El Gótico, you would think the place to be very touristy and crowded but that's not what you find once you get in! Instead, the place is very cozy, informal and usually not that full at all. It´s open from 9AM till 9PM so it's not only a bar but perfect for a morning coffee as well!

El Jardí

This one has almost the same name as the earlier one so it can be confusing! But as you see, the addresses are different ;) The terrace-restaurant is full of charm, hidden in the gardens and among the historic walls of the old Hospital of Santa Creu, in the heart of El Raval. I think this place is my favourite of the list! There is usually some nice reggae music and an informal and local vibe with some great cocktails and food as well! Actually I would very much like to try a tapas dinner there but haven't done it yet so if you have tasted the food let me know how it was! The drinks and cocktails are great and it's a perfect place to relax in the hot and humid summer of Barcelona!

Samba Brasil

This beautiful Brazilian bar is a true hidden gem! It's located in the lovely neighborhood of Horta and it has an awesome huge garden, tropical setting and delicious cocktails and caipirinhas of different flavors that some even say are the best of the whole town. Samba Brasil usually plays latin music and sometimes they have Brazilian live music and dance shows as well. There are two bars with the same name but only the one in Horta has a garden.

Address: Carrer de Santes Creus, 20
Metro: L5 Horta

El Bosc de les Fades

The name of the bar literally means "the forest of the faeries" and inside of it you can find a mystical forest that looks magical! It's full of details like strange trees, gnomes, faeries and other unexpected creatures. This place is unarguably one of the most beautiful bars of Barcelona and when I first moved here it used to be a hidden and calm place but now the crowds have found there and it's not as peaceful as it used to be but still definitely worth a visit to admire its enchanted charm, even if just for one beer or glass of wine!

Address: Passatge de la Banca, 7
Closest metro: L3 Drassanes

I hope you enjoyed the list and wish you a lovely day! :)

Love,
Sofi in Barcelona
