A few days ago we wrote Drinks by the Sea, a post with a list of our favourite bars at the beach but how about drinks in the heights with some amazing views? On this post we share with you 5 rooftop bars that we have discovered, enjoyed and found worth recommending! Come join us!

The rooftop bar of Hotel Ayre Rosellón

This calm and relaxing rooftop bar has a unique and exclusive view over the cathedral of Sagrada Familia. I haven’t found yet any other place with a better view of this Gaudí’s masterpiece so if you want some nice pictures of it or just enjoy the beautiful sight with a refreshing drink, head here! The bar is usually nicely quiet and not crowded at all so you will definitely have a different, better, experience than trying to make your way through the tourist crowd that you can find around the cathedral outside.

360 bar in Hotel Barceló Raval

The panoramic bar of Barceló Raval offers some of the best views over Barcelona: the sea, the port, Montjuic hill, the Gothic Quarter, the narrow streets of Raval till Torre Agbar and Tibidabo. So basically it’s like standing on top of Barcelona and having the city under you like a map to discover! This hotel also offers a great brunch on Sundays with a cocktail on the rooftop included, read more about the brunch here.

Hotel Pulitzer

The garden-like rooftop terrace of Hotel Pulitzer has some amazing music events from Wednesdays to Fridays! Wednesdays are for live music varying between pop, electronic and funk and on Thursdays and Fridays you can listen to some well known DJs. They also have monthly events like “The Charming Evenings” and “by Aperol Spritz” sessions. You can check their full programme here: http://www.hotelpulitzer.es/es/music/. The entrance is free and the terrace is open from 18:00 to 24:00. This is a perfect choice for a chill out summer evening!

Hotel Renaissance

Maybe after these chill out rooftop experiences you feel like having something more wild for the end of the night? Don’t worry! In that case, on Wednesdays you can head to the rooftop party of Hotel Renaissance. It’s on from 18:00 till 22 and it’s organized by We Sounds Events. Another option is the Grill & Chill BBQ Brunch with a DJ session, every Saturday from 13:00 to 18:00! This rooftop terrace with fantastic views has a young, international atmosphere and always something going on!

El Cel Lounge Bar in Hotel Renaissance Fira

Would you like to try a total off the beaten path rooftop bar? You can find this beautiful, palm tree decorated hotel in my hoods, where Barcelona ends and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat starts! Welcome! I bet you have seen this hotel from distance when entering or leaving Barcelona to the airport through Gran Vía. It always paid my attention and I wanted to know what is inside there and if the palm trees that you can see on the roof actually do hide a beautiful bar? I wasn’t wrong and there I was one evening sipping my spritz in a calm and relaxing atmosphere with only few people around me but the whole city under me! The bartender was friendly as he wasn’t overloaded with work and the prices weren’t that expensive: you can get a glass of wine with 3 euros! My spritz was 9 euros though, so next time I think I will choose the wine. You can find the bar on the 26th floor and the elevator ride up there is also breathtaking! At least for me that is a bit afraid of heights ;)
